Desiccant Buying Guide

For Bougie Box desiccant holders

My desiccant holders are designed to be used with loose desiccant beads, not packets. The holder features 1.5 mm ventilation holes, which allow airflow while keeping the beads contained. Because of this, bead size matters.

To work properly, the desiccant beads must be 2 mm or larger. Beads smaller than that can escape through the ventilation holes and create a mess or reduce effectiveness. Beads that meet the size requirement will stay securely inside the holder while still allowing moisture to be absorbed.

I recommend using orange desiccant beads only. Orange beads are moisture-indicating, meaning they change color as they absorb moisture. This lets you easily see when they need to be dried or replaced, without guessing.

Avoid packets, non-indicating beads, or beads made with cobalt.

A small amount of loose beads goes a long way. One container will refill multiple holders many times.
